Event Summary
The Salmon La Sac river is one of my greatest inspirations and teachers as an artist and I am so excited to bring another group of dancers to this divine landscape to capture movement for the second year in a row.
At 1pm our group will meet at the Historic Depot Parking Lot at the end of the paved part of Salmon La Sac RD. There is a bathroom here folks can use before we continue another 30 minutes up rough, mountain roads to the location. Please note there is no cell service after leaving Roslyn, make sure your google maps destination is set as you drive out of town. The group won’t wait more than 10 minutes for late dancers, please plan to arrive early! I recommend getting coffee or lunch in the adorable town of Roslyn before you arrive to give yourself more cushion time. We will arrive at the location I’ve staked out on the river by 1:45pm, the pole will already be set up and we will start shooting by 2pm. We can coordinate which dancers go first based on if folks need to leave early, etc.
You are welcome to head out after your shoot (if you need to leave early just let us know and you can go at the beginning) but you’re welcome to stay as well until last dancer is finished. Each dancer will have about 30 minutes to capture their photos & freestyle dancing video. Please stick to one outfit for the shoot for the sake of time. While other dancers shooting you are welcome to play in the river or woods, bring a camp chair and read, chat with the other dancers and otherwise enjoy the beautiful setting however you like.
Please note that this is on the same day as the full Harvest Moon! The forest will be super charged with potent full moon energy, however we will likely not see the moon during the shoot.

Notes on the wild/remote setting:
Please note that our location will not have cell service, running water or a bathroom and plan accordingly. There is an outhouse on the road where the campsite is that you may be able to walk to or could definitely drive to, River will make sure everyone knows where it is. You can totally pee in the woods just bring a ziploc/trash bag to pack in and out any used toilet paper which takes years to decompose. River will provide some extra gallon jugs of drinking water but you should aim to bring whatever water you need. Likewise please bring food to sustain yourself throughout the day and layers! It can be hot in the direct sun but very cool in the shade and cloud cover can bring the temperature down quickly. You may want to bring a swimsuit if you want to dip in the river after your shoot. Depending on what campsites are available it may be deep enough to fully swim but should be deep enough to dip! River will be camping over night at the site for the weekend to make secure one of the most scenic sites for the event.
There is a part of the dirt road leading up to the location where you have to drive through about a foot of water that flows over the road (although this late in the season it may be dried up). Last year we had multiple people cross in 2 wheel drive vehicles but if possible higher clearance, 4 wheel drive vehicles are the best bet.

Full Refund available until July 1st with a 7% processing fee (covers what my card processor charges me)
50% Refund if canceled between July 1st September 1st
No refunds after September 1st - you can transfer your spot in the shoot to another dancer
Who can participate in this event?
This event is open to ages 21+ and all genders, sexualities, skill levels, etc. As long as you are respectful of the other humans present we are happy to have you with us. No harassment or poor behavior towards other participants will be tolerated.
Drugs and Alcohol
Please be responsible with legal substance use. If you appear too intoxicated to safely dance on the pole or swim in the river I will pull you out of participating from the shoot.
